What ZigZag Integer Converter does
Map signed integers to non-negative ZigZag integers and decode ZigZag values back to signed integers without fixed-width precision loss.
Input and output contract
Accepts arbitrary-precision decimal integers; decode input must be zero or greater. A decimal ZigZag value or signed decimal integer.
Safe workflow
Use ZigZag first, then a varint encoder only when the file format specifies both transformations. SaveEditor processes this operation locally in the browser and does not infer a game format from the input.
Important limitations
ZigZag is only the signed-to-unsigned mapping and does not itself perform varint byte encoding. If you have raw bytes, decode the surrounding varint representation before applying ZigZag.
