Nexus DCM stores a complete Dreamcast VMU flash dump with bytes reversed inside each group of four. SaveEditor normalizes that ordering locally, proves the same raw VMU invariants, maps the single damaged marker byte back to its exact DCM source offset, changes only that byte in a new DCM copy, and reopens the normalized result strictly.

Input constraints

Exactly 131,072 bytes; deterministic four-byte-group reversal yields a structurally valid VMU image except exactly one 0x55 root-marker byte; only the corresponding DCM byte changes.

Known limitations

No CRC repair, no FAT-chain reconstruction, no directory-entry repair, no allocation repair, no game payload editing, no arbitrary metadata synthesis, and no multi-byte fixed-field repair.

Phase 54 reads only the explicitly selected local Dreamcast file in the browser. The sega-legacy-recovery-v1 runtime has no fetch, XMLHttpRequest, WebSocket, sendBeacon, FormData upload, server-side save processing, or telemetry path. The permanent 16 MiB per-file ceiling remains in force and the selected source is never modified.

A generic 128 KiB file is not enough. Normalized fixed root geometry, FAT and directory chain must agree, and exactly one marker byte may be defective.
