File retention

SaveEditor.com uses a backup-first workflow and limits file handling to what is needed for each editor or tool. Last updated: April 27, 2026.

Browser-based editing

When an editor or tool works in your browser, the file you choose remains on your device during the workflow. The page helps you inspect, edit, validate, and download the edited copy without requiring a permanent upload.

Temporary uploads

If a specific feature requires a temporary upload, the file is used for that requested action. Temporary files are not intended for long-term storage, public sharing, or unrelated processing.

Keep your original

Never overwrite your only working save. Store an untouched backup before opening any editor.

Test the edited copy

Download the edited file, test it in a separate save slot when possible, and restore your backup if the edited file does not work.

Use relevant files only

Do not upload personal documents, passwords, financial files, or unrelated private data.

Report unexpected file behavior

If a page appears to expose files, keep files longer than expected, or behave differently from its instructions, contact us with the page URL and a clear description.
